Some ideas never get past the idea stage, and many with good reason – because they’re not very good. Others, good or bad, die of natural attrition. Others still can go a fair way down the track only to then get stood on, or aborted - 'spiked', in the old argot - or worse still, ripped off. This page is a repository for stuff of mine that's suffered that sort of fate. It just seemed a waste to leave some good slabs of research/text lying around gathering dust, so I thought to 'un-spike' it, post it up here where it might yet serve some useful purpose. A couple of these entries - a CD anthology called Banana Lounge, the film version of Golden Miles - are two of my most painful near-misses, which tell the cautionary tales of their demise, while the others are full manuscripts that were or are likely never to get ('legitimately') published but can still fulfil their function as research resources. All I ask is that if you do use those resources, please accord the appropriate acknowledgement.
