As if further proof were needed that while punk rock may have won the battle in the late 70s, disco won the war – my A.O.Disco is back! A new concept in night-time entertainment in a Sydney where Gladys Berejiklian now has a mandate to totally excise fun and culture |
from our once-cosmopolitan city, the A.O.Disco will nonetheless still get you home before you get locked out. Because it is an event where nothing is under 45 – well, except maybe the album tracks that spin at 33 (rpm) – but certainly there’ll be no BPM like EDM that goes even beyond 160 – and so the more, err, discerning dancer can enjoy, umm, the semi-safe space of a floor designed for the soft shuffle and the hip Hustle of some deep disco, Latin, soul, Afrobeat and new wave with a bit extra tasty cheese (umm, yacht rock?) melted on top. Come on down to the M’ville Bowlo starting at 7:30 on Saturday night, April 13 – no cover – and DJ Big Daddy along with special guest DJ Nic Dalton will make you like it! |
